Below are all the presentations I present when visiting schools or teaching at the Boys and Girls Club. I make each of them myself and list all sources used on the final slides of each so that you can have a starting point if you want to research any of the topics more. The presentations each go over an important era of art history and the impact of art on modern culture and lifestyle. I have made all of them available to download below, so feel free to download and use them yourself!
Each of the presentations go over the history of the subject, describe the common threads in the artwork, go over examples, and have at least one art project for students to complete at the end. Each is designed to be around an hour including time for questions, discussion, and completing the art projects.
By including many opportunities for critical thought, discussion, and interaction with the content, the presentations are designed to stimulate student thought and encourage creativity.
I wanted the art projects at the ends of each presentation to be accessible to a lot of people, so the majority of them can be done only using pencils and paper and by most age groups. The projects are very open-ended to encourage creative thinking.
