I created the Pando Project over the summer before 9th grade. I’ve been in love with art all my life, often found drawing, painting, building, and exploring between reading chapters of textbooks and completing worksheets. I am a firm believer in the idea that art and creative thinking can and should be integrated into every student’s curriculum. Remembering how I never had art classes during my own public elementary years inspired me to research creativity development as well as the many other benefits regularly creating art can have in young children. Seeing how impactful art can be, I decided to found the Pando Project to give local Reno elementary and middle school students a chance to learn about and interact with art. Due to the global pandemic, my goals have shifted to providing a free quality art history curriculum to as many people who need or want it as possible through the powers of the internet. I am so excited to give back to my community and introduce other students to the value, freedom, and positive effects that making art can have. I am currently developing and presenting my own interactive history curriculum, which you can see in the art lessons tab of the website, covering eras of visual art from prehistoric times to the art we see today.
